Poe Dameron AGE 32 SPECIES Human CALL SIGN Black Leader DISPLAY NAME Poe Dameron LANGUAGE Galactic Standard OCCUPATION Resistance Starfighter Commander INVENTORY Orange Flight Suit Qudroculars Glie-44 Blaster Pistol Emergency Kit | HISTORY Born on Yavin 4 two years before the battle of Endor to Rebellion pilot Shara Bey and Rebellion soldier Kes Dameron, Poe was almost destined to join the Resistance. He started flying starfighters when he was 6 years old, sitting on his mother's lap, and even after her death he continued to have a passion for flight. He enlisted in the New Republic military as soon as he was able, and steadily rose to the rank of Commander. At some time in his command of Rapier squadron a routine patrol was interrupted by a distress call. Following that call lead them to the Yissira Zyde, under attack from the First Order. In the battle that followed one of his squad was lost and he was driven to follow the trail even when he was ordered not to. Doing so lead to him discovering exactly how big the First Order really was, to him being recruited by the Resistance as Commander of the Resistance Starfighter Corps. He was then sent on two very dangerous, very covert operations by General Leia, the first which he completed successfully, the second which he failed, leading to his capture by the First Order, and his rescue by the Stormtroper FN-2187, dubbed Finn. After they were shot down over Jakku, Poe helped a local and in turn was given passage off of Jakku, so that he could re-join the Resistance forces on D'Qar. He would met Finn again later after defending Maz's castle, and proceeded to assist in the destruction of Starkiller base, finally escorting the Falcon back to D'Qar. PERSONALITY The quintessential flyboy, Poe Dameron is bold, brash, confident, charismatic and charming. He's quick to make friends, endlessly loyal to them, nearly incapable of lying, and believes, to his very core, in hope. He's dedicated his life to doing everything he can to make the galaxy a better, safer place for the people in it, and has gladly sacrificed in pursuit of that goal. He's extremely committed to the Resistance, and for all of his easy jokes he's thoughtful and takes his job seriously. His loyalty is unquestionable, but he's not always the best at following orders, especially when they get in the way of doing what's right. |
